Club Together reader and Telent pension member Dianne Withers met with Matt Clapson, General Manager of Milestones Tours, to ask the important questions when it comes to escorted tour holidays for the over 50's.
Dianne: 'What is a 'fully escorted' tour, and what are the advantages of this type of holiday?'

Dianne: 'What is the average size of a typical Milestones Tours holiday?(How many people per tour?)'
Matt: 'It of course varies from holiday to holiday, but our usual number of passengers is around 40, sometimes 50. Our groups consist of travellers from all over the world – our only ask is that everyone is English speaking – so that everyone feels included and understood on the holiday. We get a brilliant mixture of people and we find that people do stay in touch with those they have met on our tours.'
Dianne: 'I have heard that escorted holidays can make you feel like you are just part of a group, with no time to yourself. How do you ensure people are treated as individuals?'
Matt: 'The real misconception surrounding escorted tours is that you get no time to yourself – this is simply not true with Milestones Tours. We build free time into all of our escorted tour holidays. If you have your heart set on visiting a particular place for example – then as long as we see you back on the coach for our next departure, then it's completely up to our guests'
Dianne: 'How does the 'door to door' service work and doesn't this just add to the cost of the holiday?'
Matt: 'This is all included in the cost of the holiday and we feel it makes the start of your holiday just that little bit extra special. Our drivers offer safe, reliable transport and they will ensure you arrive at your chosen UK airport in plenty of time – with no driving or airport parking to worry yourself with. If you don't wish to use the service, we are happy to reduce the cost of your holiday by £75 per person.'
